Learn about proper tire selection. The workshop will cover Toyo’s off-road tire lineup and some of the key features and benefits to look for when deciding how to outfit your overlanding rig. Learn about fitment, inflation pressures and the importance of each.
Tire sizing, things to consider:
* What are you trying to accomplish (tall tire for ground clearance, tall and wide tire for flotation – use in sand or snow, or tall and skinny for maximum longitudinal traction)
* Will you re-gear your rig to accommodate/ compensate for the larger tires
* What other modifications will be made to accommodate the tires – vehicle lift, wheel spacers or new wheels,
* Effects of larger tire on MPG
* Effects of larger tire, raising the vehicle’s center of gravity
* How will the tire you choose work with your vehicle’s safety systems and 4WD/AWD systems
Tire Inflation:
* How to determine the correct tire pressure for replacement tire
* P-metric to LT-metric conversion
* When I air down, how low can I go?
* When should I air back up?
* What happens if I use Nitrogen, CO2 or air?
